We are very sorry to hear of any difficulties you may be experiencing with your reel. Regretfully Shimano’s continued efforts to redefine the fishing industry, through the constant introduction of new product, renders the production of older parts impossible. Therefore we are unable to repair many of our older reel models.
These reel models typically ceased production five or more years ago. For an inclusive list, please see the list below. If your reel appears on this list we are currently unable to service it and ask that you refrain from spending postage on sending it to us.
However, your satisfaction is paramount and we want to help resolve this situation. Please feel free to contact Shimano’s Customer Service division at (877) 577-0600 with any further questions or comments.
Additionally, you can go to our Factory Authorized Service Center page. These retailers often keep a small selection of aged parts in inventory and they may be able to facilitate your repair. We encourage you to contact them directly concerning your particular issue.

Limited Lifetime Warranty Rods
Shimano will warranty the following rods. However, if they come to us appearing to be broken in a car door, look like they have been used excessively, or we were informed by the customer that it was broken in an accident, then Shimano will NOT warranty them.

If it is not on this list then Shimano will not warranty the rod without a valid receipt showing it to be still under one year and a new appearance.
